Hey, girlz, it's Car, and I wanted to let you know how you can play with your doll's hair and dress her up without damaging her.
First, when misting her hair, cover her eyes so the water doesn't rust them. Their eyes are plastic on the outside, but on the inside, they're really metal. Also, and this one is told a lot, NEVER blow dry, flat iron, or use a curling iron or hot rollers on your doll. If you need to blow dry your doll's hair, use a cool fan, or if your blow dryer has a cool setting that makes it pretty cold, you can use that. Many people think that if you wet your doll's hair enough you can straighten it, and there are many videos on the Web on how to do it, but don't take any chances. American girl dolls are $110 to

$129 dollars NOT including shipping, so ruining that hair will cause devastation and losing money to buying a new doll (you can send your doll to the Doll Hospital, but that costs like $56 dollars, so don't ruin her hair :).
When choosing and making clothes, make sure they are either American Girl brand or leak-proof. Leak-proof is pretty self-explanatory. It means that the dye won't leak through the clothes and into your doll's cloth body, and that's pretty hard to get out. When storing your doll, put her hair in the style it came, or just leave it down. Putting it in any other style may cause crimps from bobby pins and barrettes and the color from elastics to leak onto their hair. Use either clear or black elastics when putting their hair in it's original style. Also, make sure she is in her original outfit or other American Girl brand outfit to prevent leakage.
Thats it for this article! Thanks for reading!
